The biggest event on the Australian motorsport calendar – Bathurst 1000 – is back for another year. The field looks very different this year, however, so make sure you know all the drivers and co-drivers, with The Roar’s handy guide.
Unlike the rest of the Supercars season, Bathurst 1000 features two drivers per car due to the race’s punishing length. The co-driver must do at least 54 laps out of the 161 in total.
This year, COVID border restrictions mean this will be the first Australian and New Zealand-only field of drivers since 1964. Of the 50 drivers in total, 45 are from Australia. It will also be the first time since 2012 that only Holden and Ford have entered drivers.
Reigning champion Scott McLaughlin won’t be able to pair with his 2019 co-driver, Alexandre Premat of France, instead pairing with Australia’s Tim Slade.
