Ellen DeGeneres won a trophy at the E! People’s Choice Awards earlier today and during her acceptance speech, she made sure to send some love to the crew and staff on her talk show. Here’s what she had to say!
As you might know, the host has been in hot water over accusations of work toxicity behind the scenes as well as rumors that she is a rude and mean person herself.
While Ellen has apologized several times, many are still not convinced she meant it but she is not giving up!
So when she won the honor for Daytime Talk Show of 2020, she made sure to thank her ‘amazing crew and staff.’
She also showed gratitude towards the viewers at home and all the fans who voted for her show before going on to give credit to all those working tirelessly behind the cameras.
‘From deep, deep down in my heart, I thank you. I am not just accepting this award for myself but also on behalf of my amazing crew and staff who make this show possible. They show up every day, give 100 percent of themselves 100 percent of the time. That is 250 people times 170 shows a year, times 18 years, and if you carry the two and divide it by 11 — my point is, I love all of them. I thank them all for what they do every day to help that show be the best,’ Ellen said during her acceptance speech.
The famous host went on to thank fans who have remained by her side throughout the whole controversy and scandal.
‘I know this award comes from the people. Thank you to the people, thanks for all of my fans for supporting me and sticking by me. I can’t tell you all how grateful I am and what this means to mean, it’s more than I could possibly tell you — especially now. Thank you so much.’
